A Great Encouragment

I went outside this morning to look at the Aquaponic Wicking Bed, and was amazed at how much growth was on the tomatoes - a clear sign that the system is working. I wondered if I should cut the spreading low branches in order to make the plant more vertical and let the plants below it grow more. I ended up cutting these branches from both tomatoes - probably a good long-term choice, in order to make the plant more top heavy. It's already expanding out of it's trellis, so I need to get my nets ordered. My hope it to make an area of 3d nets for the tomato to expand into, a bit like a tree. This should shade the plants below it from direct sun and give maximum heat to the tomato. If it works it could look spectacular and create a lot of tomatoes.
